April 6, 2010 -  The members of the Oregon Rush SC BOD, along with the Rush Soccer Park field committee, adopted the bylaws and elected officers to the new non-profit that will fundraise, build, and operate the field complex.  This new entity is called the Central Oregon Sports Park.  Initially, there are five BOD members, 3 appointed by the BOD of Oregon Rush, and 2 Field Committee appointees.  The new board for the Central Oregon Sports Park consists of:

John O'Sullivan: President

Bob Caine: VP

Mark Allers: Secretary

Mike Malmquist: Treasurer

Mike Gorman: Member -at-large

Kittleson and Assoc. has completed our traffic engineering work, and we are now beginning the process of submitting our Conditional Use permit and finalzing our land lease with the City of Bend.  The project has continued to generate tremendous support from our community, with recent endorsements from Visit Bend, the Central Oregon Visitors Association, the City of Bend, and the office of US Senator Ron Wyden, and others.

January 25, 2010 - We have enetered into an agreement with Kittleson and Assoc. to do our traffic study and traffic engineering work.  Once this is complete, we will be able to apply for our Conditional Use Permit from Deschutes County.  We have also applied to the Oregon National Guard Innovative Readiness Training Unit to do the excavation work on our facility.

January 22, 2010 - We have submitted the paperwork to the State of Oregon to create a seperate 501 c 3 non profit entity called Central Oregon Sports Park.  This is the entity that will fundraise, build, and then administer the new sports park.

December 30, 2009 - ORSC Director John O'Sullivan met today with the three Deschutes County Commissioners to outline to parameters of the Rush Soccer Park project and answer any questions the Commissioners had about the project.  O'Sullivan also asked the County about the potential of adding 18 county owned acres to the north of the CoB property, and was told to submit a written request for their consideration.  Overall, O'Sullivan and Rush members present felt that the proposal was well received by the Commissioners.

December 1, 2009 - Oregon Rush and City of Bend sign MOU outlining potential lease terms for Juniper Ridge Property.  Click Here for the December Newsletter article about the project

November 24, 2009 - Oregon Rush is thrilled to announce that the Bend City Council has approved a Memorandum of Understanding between ORSC and the City of Bend to begin lease negotiations on a 40 acre parcel in northern Juniper Ridge.  This parcel will become the future home of Oregon Rush Soccer Club, as well as a tournament venue for us, and other Central Oregon sporting organizations.

Oregon Rush, along with other local sports clubs, has been working for years to find ways to alleviate the field crunch we face here in Bend.  This proposed project is an exciting step forward in that search, and we realize that we have only just begun the process.  But never-the-less, we have taken a step towards ensuring our future growth by getting our own home, helping us become the top club in Oregon.  It is our hope to build the finest soccer fields in our state, and make Central Oregon the destination for soccer in the northwest.

We will continually post updates about our project on this page, so check back often and follow our progress.  And if you have any questions or comments, or better yet, if you want to help us with our project through your expertise or a financial contribution, please contact ORSC Director John O'Sullivan at josullivan@oregonrush.com.
