Oregon Players Perform Well with Rush Select XI at 2010 President's Day Tourney in Phoenix
February 12-15, 2010: Though a relatively small community, Central Oregon is producing some phenomenal soccer players. Four of those were rewarded recently for their years of hard work. Natalie Ambrose, Shannon Patterson, Delaney Crook, and Logan Reimhofer were all selected to play on the Rush National Select teams at the recent President's Day Tournament in Phoenix, Arizona. Getting three players (Crook, Patterson, Ambrose) into the girls U14 team was a minor coup, but one well justified on the back of Ambrose and Hadlie Plummer's efforts at last years' event. While the U14 Girls and U14 Boys results were not as strong as hoped for, the individual performances by these four outstanding players should make Central Oregon soccer fans proud and give younger players a few role models.

While these players achieved a bit of individual success, it was important for them to learn from the teams' failings as well. Their valuable experiences can translate into these players' abilities to elevate their Oregon Rush teammates' play and training habits. They can tell you how much work it will take, on a daily basis, to compete at the next level; about how many hours a week it takes to be special and about that intangible drive it takes for an ordinary player to become extraordinary. These players also started friendships that may last a lifetime. The experience was one that will prove to be pivotal in these young players' progression in their pursuit of excellence in soccer. Watch for these names in the future, for theirs is bright.
Oregon Rush Girls Excel at 2009 Sereno Tournament with Rush National Select Teams
Congratulations to Madison Shore (94 Girls Nike), Natalie Ambrose (95 Girls Nike) and Hadlie Plummer (95 Girls Nike) for their outstanding performances for Rush soccer at the Sereno Tournament in Phoenix, AZ, January 17-19, 2009. Joining other outstanding Rush players from Virginia, Colorado, Texas, Michigan, and around the United States, these three Oregon girls played with the best of the best in Rush soccer and all did very well.
Shore, playing for the U14 National Rush team, anchored the center midfield, scoring two goals, including one in the final, as her team advanced to the finals before falling to Eastside (WA) in a PK Shootout. Plummer and Ambrose played with the U13 Girls, who dominated their opponents before falling to eventual champion Sereno in the semifinals. Ambrose anchored the Rush backline, while Plummer was the leading scorer for the team. Congratulations ladies, thanks for representing Oregon Rush so well!

The Player Loan Program is a Rush Soccer interclub player exchange opportunity that allows players from other Rush Soccer Branch Chapters to experience playing with other teams all over the country. Its goal is to provide numerous opportunities for our members in order to facilitate and guide their development as well as helping them to achieve their individual goals and dreams. As a partner in Rush Soccer, Oregon Rush players have the opportunity to guest play with 19 different Rush clubs spread across 17 states, as well as participate on National Rush Select Teams for events such as the Champions Cup (FL), Manchester United Cup (OR), and others.
Players would be able to take advantage of playing opportunities with teams in other regions of the country. They could play in events that their team may not be able to participate in. Players will be able to play at higher competitive levels, be exposed to regional or national staff, travel regionally, nationally or internationally as well as experience different playing styles, coaching, cultures and traditions.
Coaches would be able to form competitive teams that would compete in high level national events. They would have options and opportunities to expose their players into events that logistically, financially or for personnel reasons would be difficult to achieve within their own teams or clubs.
Players who are interested should contact Technical Director John O'Sullivan.
If selected, players then will be contacted by the appropriate coach and/or team manager form the partner club in order to logistically plan for the trip.
