Darren Pitfield: Asst. Camp Director
Darren is currently the Oregon Rush Academy Director of Coaching. For the past seven years, he has been one of Central Oregon's top youth coaches, taking numerous teams to State Cup Finals, and the DAFC Galaxy to the Region IV quarterfinals in 2005. He currently holds his UEFA B License, one of the top European licenses, and has a BS and an MA in Sport Science and Physical Education from Loughborough University in England. He has years of experience working with youth in the summer camp environment, including 3 years as Director of Coaching for Challenger Sports Camps. As a player, Darren played as a YTS trainee for York City AFC in England before coming to the United States.
Eli Ulvi: Asst Camp Director
Eli comes to Oregon after serving as Technical Director for Alaska Rush Soccer Club in Anchorage, AK. Eli grew up playing soccer in Fairbanks where he went through the competitive system and into four years of varsity soccer at West Valley High School, two years on the Alaska State ODP team and two years on the Arctic Winter Games Indoor State teams. After high school Eli walked onto Fort Lewis College Men’s soccer team in 1999. That year the team reached the NCAA DII National Championship game. After moving back to Fairbanks, Eli began coaching at West Valley and for a local U19 Club team. Eli coached for 10 years in Fairbanks and Anchorage, with teams winning four state championships. Most recently his 95 AK Rush boys made the quarterfinals at the Far West Regional Tournament in 2007. Eli hold his USSF A License, US National Youth License, as well as an NSCAA Goalkeeping Diploma and a KNVB Dutch Diploma.
Chris Smith: Goalkeeper Director
Chris joined the staff of Oregon Rush in November 2008 after an 10 year professional soccer career that included stints with the Portland Timbers (A League) and St Louis Steamers (MISL). Chris has also coached extensively at the club, high school, ODP, and collegiate levels, including stints with the University of Tulsa, Portland State University, and Oklahoma City University. he played his collegiate soccer at Jacksonville University, where he graduated with a degree in Coaching/Sport Psychology, and has been a certified personal trainer by the NSCA since 2001. In March of 2009, Chris obtained his NSCAA Director of Coaching Diploma, and plans to soon pursue his USSF B License.
