The Oregon Rush Future Stars and Shooting Stars Academy is Central Oregon’s most innovative youth soccer program geared toward boys and girls ages 5-11 years old. All Academy coaching is directed by Kyle Steinbaugh, Director of Junior Player Development for Oregon Rush. Kyle has his USSF “A” License and National Youth License, as well as extensive playing and coaching experience in the club, collegiate, and professional levels.
At the Oregon Rush Future Stars and Shooting StarsAcademy, your child will receive coaching from fully licensed, professional coaches. The training will focus on technical improvement and the beginning of tactical awareness. During each one hour session, your child will learn new techniques, and then be encouraged to try them out in small sided games. Topics to be covered during the eight week session include 1v1 dribbling, shielding, receiving, passing, shooting, and small group tactics. Every session will begin and end with a game, ensuring your child has loads of fun, and learns a lot about the beautiful game! The ultimate purpose of each, though, is to identify those players with a passion to take their game from the Developmental level to the Competitive level, and provide them with the professional training needed to make the jump. As such, we divide our program into two phases:
Shooting Stars Academy: for 5-7 year old boys and girls. This program is open to all players, regardless of ability, who are looking to improve their soccer technique in a fun yet competitive environment. It is designed as a supplement to Oregon Rush Developmental or Bend Parks and Rec Soccer, and will meet once per week for 7 weeks.
Future Stars Academy; for 8-11 year old boys and girls, is an invite only program designed to identify and train the top youth players in our area prior to them reaching the age where they can play Competitive soccer. Players will be indentified thorugh coaches recomendations, scouting of Rush and non Rush games, and select player identification days. This program is a supplement to Developmental soccer and Bend Parks and Rec, and is open to players in either program provided tehy are invited to join. Future Stars players will train once per week for 7 weeks, in addition to their own team training, and then train together for two weeks prior to a season ending tournament in November (Fall), May (Spring) and July (Summer). All Future Stars players will receive a uniform for tournament.
