ABOUT OREGON RUSH SOCCER CLUB
Oregon Rush provides opportunities to play soccer to all children ages 5-18, regardless of experience, ability, and finances. We have a Youth Academy for those just starting out or looking to enhance their skills, a Developmental Program for players looking to experience regional travel soccer in Central Oregon, and a Competitive Academy Program that competes against the top teams throughout the United States. We also offer a TOPSoccer program for children age 4-19 with disabilities, as well as coaching education, referee clinics, and more. With national level partnerships with Nike, Eurosport, and Bonzi Development, we are able to offer more to our members then any other club in our area on both the local and national level. Oregon Rush is truly a club for both neighborhood and country. While players can join Oregon Rush at any time, most players follow the Rush Player Development outline below. Please click on any link to find out more about that program:
Age 6-10: Players join our Developmental Program and/or the Future Stars Academy. In the Developmental program, they train twice per week with volunteer coaches, and have numerous clinics throughout the season with our professional coaching staff. Some players join the Youth Academy for extra training with our professional coaches. Teams play small sided games in both a Fall and Spring season in the Central Oregon Soccer League, which is run by Oregon Rush. The goal of COSL is player development, therefore we keep no standings, publish no scores, and play a variety of formats that give our young players the best possible soccer experience. U8 players have both 6v6 games and "Game Days," where a variety of small sided games are played. Our U10s play 8v8 soccer on small goals and smaller fields, maximizing touches and success.
Age 11-12: Players can follow two roads at this point, Competitive or Developmental. At U10, a player can tryout for one of our Competitive Teams, where they are coached full time by our professional coaching staff. At u11, they play games locally in the U12 COSL league, and by U12, they play games against other teams from around Oregon. Competitive teams also play in two in state tournaments per year that are included in their fees. Click here to read our U11-U12 Age Group Philosophy.
Players can also continue in the Developmental program, playing locally in U12 COSL and coached by a volunteer coach, the same as the 6-10 Program.
Age 12-18: Players play in the Oregon Rush Competitive Program, recognized around the state and region as one of the best player development programs. Our players play in a State wide or Regional league, compete for state, regional and national championships, and attend some fo the top tournaments in the country. Oregon Rush players have access to the finest coaches, and programs such as our College Advisory Program, Player Loan Program, and advanced positional training in our Strikers and Goalkeeper Academy. Select players in our Competitive program represent Oregon on the State, regional, and National Olympic develoment teams, and many go on to play soccer at the collegiate level. "THE RUSH WAY"
Oregon Rush is part of Rush Soccer, representing over 33,000 youth soccer players nationwide. Rush Soccer is committed to the development of healthy youth through the game of soccer. With a firm belief in the value of sports in promoting the physical, mental and social well-being of our children, Rush Soccer is devoted to providing our members the finest soccer experience possible, teaching the fundamental skills of the game and developing athletes through organized leagues, teams, tournaments, training, coaches and athletic facilities.
Rush Soccer is committed to making soccer a pleasant, safe, and rewarding experience for everyone involved, regardless of ability, and we believe that all players are winners because everyone is afforded an equal opportunity to explore their potential and pursue positive outcomes on and off the field.
Rush Soccer was formed in 2002 under the leadership of the Colorado Rush Soccer Club in order to broaden the scope of its proven coaching, player development and administrative methodologies to a national level. By affiliating with qualified soccer clubs throughout the United States, Rush Soccer uses personnel, technical and intellectual property exchanges to create efficiencies through economies of scale, promote player, coach and tournament exchanges, develop proprietary information technology applications, provide administrative and technical consulting, streamline branding opportunities and maximize potential for fundraising and sponsorship support.
Rush Soccer's primary objective is to develop a national level club cooperative system that offers substantial opportunities for national corporate sponsorship and foundation support, provides the framework for a national coach and player development network, and will serve a significant centralized pool of talent for consideration by European, MLS, NCAA, US National and Olympic soccer programs. With twenty clubs currently affiliated with Rush Soccer--in Denver, Colorado Springs, Virginia Beach, Albuquerque, Houston, Tucson, Kansas City, Salt Lake City, Anchorage, Honolulu, Detroit, Boise, Sacramento, Lincoln, Memphis, Lexington, Philadelphia/Trenton and Bend (OR), Southern California, Arkansas and Lincoln (NE) - we are committed to growing to include over 40,000 players by the year 2011.
